And so the break begins...

No comic today, booooo~~ I'm sorry... but I did make more progress than I thought I would on some rough sketches for A-kon fan artwork. I am still not quite sure what all to draw for the A-kon art show this year. I want to draw characters I like, obviously, but it would also be nice if the artwork would sell in the art auction, because after my surgery last december, my funds have been low, and I am reaaaaallly stretching it with my trek to AX. So I need to strike that balance of fun-to-draw-enjoyment and I-really-hope-someone-likes-my-art-enough
-to-buy-it. I will have a couple pieces of original OO character artwork there. If you have any suggestions on what to draw, post a comment here ^_^

Emi, try not to let the well run dry completely during this time. We're your loyal readers and friends and would even appreciate a simple pencil sketch or sneak-peek character sketch once a week. Try to balance your money-earning work with keeping your pals happy.

Also, if other cons are coming up in the future, I suggest working a bit ahead if possible so you have a backlog of comics that can simply be put up to keep things going.

I have tried for 5 years to have a backlog of comics, and it has never worked out. I am just too busy @_@ And for several years now there has been a break in May (look in the archives, you will noticie it ^_^ especially 03 and 04), so for longtime readers this shouldn't be that much of a surprise. For new readers, all I can hope for is that they will be patient. I will try to post something this month, but I can't make any promises. That is why I always like to encourage readers to send me stuff (remixes, fanart, etc) because this would be a great time for it to be seen :D And given the fact that I have been putting out this comic almost non-stop for free for 5 years now, I actually NEED a good break from it once in a while to preserve my sanity. I do feel burned out a lot @_@

Beauty Man Garden waiters are always a good thing, and they are the kind of art that I would buy, but then I an just a really weird guy. I am sorry taht you are feeling burned out, but I will say that in the last few months since I found your comic I have looked forward to seeing every new one as you post it.
